Crop Progress Update – 5/31/22
According to the USDA, corn and soybean planting progress each remained below five-year average levels during the week nationally but outside of North Dakota and Minnesota, overall progress is on par or ahead of the five-year average.
Corn:
Corn plantings ended the week at 86% complete just above expectations but still behind last year’s pace of 94% completed and the five-year average pace of 87% completed.




Corn emergence ended the week at 61% behind last year’s pace of 79% completed and the five-year average pace of 68% completed.
Soybeans:
Soybean plantings ended the week at 66% complete just behind expectations and the five-year average pace of 67% completed as well as last year’s pace of 83%.


Soybean emergence ended the week at 39% complete just behind the five-year average pace of 43% completed and well behind last year’s pace of 59%.
