Crop Progress Update – 11/1/21
According to the USDA, corn and soybean harvest progress each finished below analyst expectations during the week ending Oct 31st.
Corn:
Corn harvest progress as of the week ending Oct 31st was 74% complete, finishing behind last year’s pace of 81% completed but remaining ahead of the five year average pace of 66% completed. Corn harvest progress finished slightly below analyst expectations of 75% completed.
An additional eight percent of the total U.S. corn crop was harvested during the week ending Oct 31st. Weekly increases in corn harvest on a percentage basis were led by Pennsylvania and Wyoming, followed by New York.
Soybeans:
Soybean harvest progress as of the week ending Oct 31st was 79% complete, finishing behind last year’s pace of 86% completed and the five year average pace of 81% completed. Soybean harvest progress finished below analyst expectations of 81% completed.
An additional six percent of the total U.S. soybean crop was harvested during the week ending Oct 31st. Weekly increases in soybean harvest on a percentage basis were led by Delaware, followed by North Carolina and Pennsylvania.
