Crop Progress Update – 6/25/18
According to USDA, seasonal good-to-excellent crop conditions remain at long-term record highs through the week ending Jun 24th.
Corn:
With corn plantings and emergence completed, attention turns to condition figures. A total of 77% of the corn crop was in good or excellent condition as of the week ending Jun 24th, down slightly from the previous week. Just 5% of the corn crop was identified as in poor or very poor condition.
The current seasonal good-to-excellent corn conditions were tied for the highest experienced throughout the past 24 years.
Soybeans:
Soybean emergence as of the week ending Jun 24th was 95% complete, finishing ahead of last year’s pace of 93% and the five year average pace of 89%.
A total of 73% of the soybean crop was in good or excellent condition as of the week ending Jun 24th, while just 5% of the soybean crop was identified as in poor or very poor condition. Soybean crop condition figures were unchanged from the previous week.
The current seasonal good-to-excellent soybean conditions were tied for the highest experienced on record.
