Crop Progress Update – 10/25/21
According to the USDA, corn harvest progress finished slightly above analyst expectations during the week ending Oct 24th while soybean harvest progress finished slightly below analyst expectations.
Corn:
Corn harvest progress as of the week ending Oct 24th was 66% complete, finishing behind last year’s pace of 70% completed but remaining ahead of the five year average pace of 53% completed. Corn harvest progress finished slightly above analyst expectations of 65% completed.
An additional 14% of the total U.S. corn crop was harvested during the week ending Oct 24th. Weekly increases in corn harvest on a percentage basis were led by New Jersey, followed by Nebraska.
Soybeans:
Soybean harvest progress as of the week ending Oct 24th was 73% complete, finishing behind last year’s pace of 82% completed but remaining ahead of the five year average pace of 70% completed. Soybean harvest progress finished slightly below analyst expectations of 74% completed.
An additional 13% of the total U.S. soybean crop was harvested during the week ending Oct 24th. Weekly increases in soybean harvest on a percentage basis were led by Pennsylvania, followed by Missouri.
