Crop Progress Update – 12/2/19
According to USDA, corn and soybean harvest figures remained below previous year levels through the week ending Dec 1st. Corn harvest progress finished consistent with average analyst expectations while soybean harvest progress finished slightly below average analyst expectations.
Corn:
Corn harvest progress as of the week ending Dec 1st was 89% complete, remaining behind last year’s pace of 97% and the five year average pace of 98%. Corn harvest progress finished at a ten year low seasonal pace but was consistent with average analyst expectations.
Corn harvest progress finished most significantly behind five year average figures throughout North Dakota, followed by Wisconsin and Michigan.
Soybeans:
Soybean harvest progress as of the week ending Dec 1st was 96% complete, finishing slightly behind last year’s pace of 97% and the five year average pace of 99%. Soybean harvest progress finished tied for the lowest seasonal pace experienced throughout the past 33 years and was slightly below average analyst expectations of 97% completed.
Soybean harvest progress finished most significantly behind five year average figures throughout Wisconsin, followed by Michigan and North Dakota.
